Avoid Failures In Phase III Clinical Trials

The objective of the phase III stage in the clinical trial is to demonstrate the acceptable benefit of the clinical trial by experimenting on the large representative population. The outcome of the phase III trials has great impact on the R&D costs of the medical trial yet failures in the third Phase of the medical trial counted on large numbers. The quest to bring out rise the success rate of the medical trials, technologies should be developed to predict the outcome of the clinical trial at the premature stage so that the cost of Research and development will be saved besides making the best utilization of the resources. Early detection of the upcoming failure will help to utilize the resources to other drug trials in the pipeline.

The quest to cut down the failure rate in the Phase III stage of the medical trial resulted in the formulation of Group sequential design where the analysis made at the interim levels to predict the output of the clinical trials based on the statistical data.
